We need you!

We are always looking to expand our international network, which we draw on to establish panels for the development of new guidelines. In addition to panel members, we need people who are willing to review draft guidelines or undertake tasks such as literature searches or appraisals.

Participating in guideline development brings enormous benefits in terms of professional development. You are likely to gain competencies in some or all of the following:

  • Systematic literature searches
  • Appraisal of scientific publications
  • Formulation of evidence-based clinical recommendations

Most importantly, your involvement will ensure that your expert knowledge is helping to guide the care of everyone with EB around the world.

What is required?

Firstly, you need to be an expert in EB or a relevant topic. Your expertise might be on the topic of the guideline in question or in an overlapping clinical area, for example EB nurses are required on the panels for all EB guidelines.

Secondly you need to be able to allocate time to the project and the ability to  meet milestones and deadlines. Here’s a rough guide to the time commitment required:

  • Guideline lead: 1 day a week
  • Panel member: 1 day a month
  • Reviewer: 1 day a year

In the case of a new guideline topic, we request the lead(s) to complete a DEBRA CPG Application Form. Please get in touch with us however, before completing this form. We can guide and support you in the process. If you are interested in contributing to this valuable initiative, please get in touch with Dr. Kattya Mayre-Chilton
