Exercises Hips
Exercises for the
prevention of contractures
Hips often become stiff, especially when the patient sits for a long time.
In order to `stretch' the hips a simple abdominal position is a good remedy. Other
exercises include:
Assume abdominal position and lift the right leg outstretched.
Repeat the exercise with the left leg.

Stand up straight and move the outstretched
right leg backwards. Repeat the exercise with the left leg. Alternatively, hold on to the
back of a chair.
