Padding materials
Secutex A-D Pressure sensitive dot® without indentation
Description: Material filled with fibres. The tick is
made out of cotton.
Uses: Can be applied to the
body on all places where damage may occur as the result of pressure or rubbing. Filling
and tick are industrial wash-proof. Secure with hydrophillic elastic fixation bandage or
cotton tubular stockinettes.

Surgical absorbents
Cutisorb®
Description: Absorbent
dressing pad. High absorption of secretion and wound protection. Does not adhere to the
wound. 100% surgical cotton wool with film that is gentle to the skin. Is closed on four
sides. The intermediate layer sees to the distribution of fluid. Soft and flexible.
Uses: Is very suitable
for wounds with ample exudate. To be used in combination with ointment impregnated gauze
dressings, non-adherent dressings and wound contact materials. Can also be used as padding
material. Secure with hydrophillic elastic fixation bandage or cotton tubular
stockinettes.

Cutisoft®
Description: Does not adhere to the
wound, is soft and can be reshaped. Cutisoft® retains its strength when both dry and wet
and hardly gives off any particles. Is gentle to the skin and packed in a sterile
wrapping.
Uses: To be used for wounds with little
exudate. Protective cover of primarily closed and also secondary healing wounds. May be
used in combination with ointment impregnated gauze dressings, non-adherent dressings and
wound contact materials. Can also be used as padding material. Secure with hydrophillic
elastic fixation bandage or cotton tubular stockinettes.

Ointment impregnated gauze dressings;
Adaptic®
Description: A gauze
impregnated with oil in a water emulsion that does not adhere to the wound and therefore
does not damage the granulation tissue when the dressings are changed.
Uses: Use in combination with an absorbent dressing.
Secure with hydrophillic elastic fixation bandage or cotton tubular stockinettes.

Wound contact materials
Mepitel®
Description: Gauze dressing of polyamide
with water-repellent silicone gel. Permeable to water-vapour and moisture maintaining.
Protects newly formed tissue.
Uses: Does not adhere to the wound.
Requires an ab-sorbent dressing on top. It is used for clean granulating
wounds.

Non-adherent absorbent dressings
Melolin®
Description: Consists
of an absorbent cotton / acrylic / acrylate wound pad with a very thin perforated
polyester film on one side.
Uses: The film side
must be placed over the wound. Suitable for wounds with moderate exudate. Secure with

Hydrophillic elastic fixation bandages
Elastomull Haft®
Description: White,
elastic fixation bandage made of a combination of cotton, viscose and polyamide.
Impregnated with latex. The bandage is self- adherent, elastic and stationary. The bandage
does not pinch or cut off.
Uses: Elastic gauze bandages are used to secure dressings
on joints or body parts that are difficult to put a dressing on (trunk, fingers, toes and
joints).
The fixation bandage should not be applied to the bare skin because this
may cause blisters and wounds.

Cotton tubular stockinettes;

Description: Elastic
tubular bandage for retention, support and compression. 80% cotton, elastane and
polyester.
Uses: After
choosing the right width and cutting off the length desired, the tube is pulled like a
sock over the body part involved.

spots.
Uses: For the retention of padding materials,

Tubifast®
Description: For the
retention of wound dressings on small limbs, can also be used as dermatological dressing.
Uses: For
the retention of padding materials, wound covering materials and for the protection of the
skin. Quick and easy to apply, maintains proper ventilation of the skin. The stretch stop
prevents the tubifast from becoming too tight.

All dressing materials can be obtained
on prescription at the chemist's. The chemist's may alternatively (after consultation with
the doctor in attendance) supply equivalent dressing material from a different supplier.
