Materials & Medication Introduction
Patients with EB use different kinds of dressing materials and ointments for skin care and nutrients in order to obtain and maintain the nutritional status. This chapter describes the dressing materials, ointments, creams and nutrients that have been used satisfactorily by EB-patients and/or their carers. The materials have been ordered as follows: • ointments and creams; • dressing materials; • nutrients. The various modules include the different kinds of ointments, creams, dressing materials and nutrients that have been used, their range of application and how they are used. Every module ends with a specification of the materials and products described. In this specification the properties and the composition, as well as the use of the specific products are discussed in greater depth. In addition, information is included for placing an order for any of the various products (article number and manufacturer). The materials that can be used for the adaptation of the living and social environment are described in the chapter Treatment. |
