Funded research projects

DEBRA International has funded research into the causes, treatments, and possible cures for EB for over 25 years. Until recently, DEBRA was the only organisation dedicated to funding research and as such, has been responsible – through its researchers – for establishing much of what is now known about EB, providing a solid basis for the development of treatments.

At any one time DEBRA supports around 30-40 research projects of 1, 2, or 3 years duration. Periodically, and according to identified need, DEBRA announces initiatives to fund much larger, collaborative, longer-term programme grants of up to 5 years and with much larger budgets.

Through this page, you may search for projects using particular keywords: the search basis is that all projects featuring a keyword selected will be displayed, with the most recently awarded projects shown first.

Please note that this section providing details of individual research projects, both ongoing and completed, is still under construction. Additional projects and information will be added as soon as possible.
