MEET THE TEAM

Andreas is from Berlin, Germany, he lives with junctional Epidermolysis Bullosa. He has been actively involved in the EB community for many years, first as a patient, then as a volunteer and vice chairman of DEBRA Germany for five years, before becoming its managing director in 2025. In this role, he works to strengthen the organization through advocacy, networking, strategy and fundraising. Every day, he works to make DEBRA Germany bloom and grow as a professional and future-ready patient organization.

He studied social sciences and sociology and previously worked as a freelance radio journalist, experiences that helped him work on his communication skills and his ability to learn quickly and make connections across different fields. These skills support his work, particularly in fostering relationships between patients, healthcare stakeholders, clinicians and policymakers.

He is motivated to join the DEBRA International Executive Committee to strengthen connections between EB communities, support patients and families, and contribute to initiatives that reflect their needs. He enjoys reading, philosophy, traveling and meeting new people. And he loves spending time with his poodle, Alto.
