MEET THE TEAM

Mariangela brings nine years of experience in the rare diseases field, with expertise in health policy, patient engagement, advocacy, and patient-centred research. As Executive Director of DEBRA International, she leads the organisation’s work to strengthen global collaboration and the collective voice and impact of the epidermolysis bullosa (EB) community worldwide.

With a PhD in Political Philosophy from Université Paris-Sorbonne, her work brings together political and ethical analysis with public health and lived-experience evidence. She has extensive experience working in collaborative, multi-stakeholder environments and developing approaches that place patients and communities at the centre of research, care, and health policy.

She is fluent in Italian, Spanish, English, and French.
