
OESOPHAGEAL STRICTURES
Guideline objectives: To highlight management priorities in the care of oesophageal strictures in inherited epidermolysis bullosa (EB) and provide clinicians access to recommended diagnostic, treatment, and preventative care options. This guideline is intended to inform and support healthcare professionals involved in the care of individuals with EB, to provide a comprehensive, expert, evidence-informed resource for the management of oesophageal strictures, to reduce the incidence and impact of stricture-related complications, to promote inclusion of preventative strategies, symptom management, and multidisciplinary team input, and to highlight the ongoing care and support needs of individuals living with EB and oesophageal involvement.
Target users: Dermatologists, Gastroenterologists, Paediatricians, Nutritionists and Dietitians, Speech and Language Therapists, Nurses (including specialist EB nurses), Endoscopists, Genetic Counsellors, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists and Mental Health Professionals, Primary Care Physicians / Family Doctors, Social Workers, Caregivers/Parents
