In April 2025, Buenos Aires, Argentina, hosted the 15th World Congress of Pediatric Dermatology (WCPD), a major global event in the field. From Tuesday, April 8th to Friday, April 11th, hundreds of dermatologists from around the world gathered to share research, exchange clinical insights, and foster international collaboration.
Ahead of the official opening, on Monday, April 7th, several sister society meetings took place. Among them was a dedicated meeting for DEBRA (Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa Research Association), led by Dr. Palisson and Dr. Lucky. Representing DEBRA International (DI), Ignacia Fuentes of DEBRA Chile and a member of DI’s Executive Committee participated actively in the discussions, ensuring the voice of the international EB community was present.
DEBRA International was also offered a booth at the congress, providing an excellent platform to raise awareness about Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB). Printed materials and information were shared with attendees, including resources on EB, the work of DEBRA International, details about the upcoming EB2026 international meeting in Brazil, and initiatives such as the Youth Council.
The congress was a valuable opportunity to engage with professionals, exchange experiences, and build a greater understanding of EB and the global efforts being made to support those living with the condition. It was a meaningful and inspiring experience that helped shine a light on the challenges faced by the EB community and the commitment of DEBRAs worldwide to improving lives.
