Boosting Early Diagnosis of EB: New DEBRA UK CPD Module

DEBRA UK has recently launched a new EB CPD module authored by Dr Anna Martinez from the EB healthcare centre of excellence at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London.

The objective of this module is to help raise awareness of EB with healthcare professionals (HCPs), particularly general practitioners (GPs). The module provides GPs with guidance on how to recognise the symptoms of the main forms of EB and how to distinguish EB from other inflammatory skin conditions including psoriasis and atopic dermatitis.

EB can often be misdiagnosed or go undiagnosed in patients, particularly in its less severe forms, and so the hope is that this new module will support HCPs in recognising the symptoms, correctly diagnosing the condition, and ensuring that the patient receives the specialist healthcare support they need.
