DEBRA Egypt Caricature Workshop Empowers EB Patients Through Creativity

The Yasmin El-Samra Foundation/DEBRA Egypt organised an art workshop on caricature drawing on Saturday, January 31, 2026, as part of its ongoing activities to support Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) patients psychologically and socially, and to help develop their skills.

The workshop was led by caricature artist Khaled, who introduced participants to the art of caricature and its basic principles. He explained, in a simple and engaging way, how to transform ideas and everyday situations into expressive artistic drawings. Participants were also given the opportunity for hands-on practice, creating their own artwork and expressing their feelings through art.

The workshop was attended by approximately 25 EB patients of different ages, along with their families, in an atmosphere filled with interaction, joy, and mutual encouragement. The activity helped create a safe space for self-expression, strengthened self-confidence, and brought happiness to the participants.

Through such artistic and recreational activities, the foundation seeks to reduce the psychological pressures patients may face in their daily lives, provide opportunities to discover and develop their talents, and strengthen social connection and belonging among them. Art, with its powerful ability to express and inspire, represents an important means of supporting patients in their journey with the disease.

The Yasmin El_Samra Charity Foundation, chaired by Mrs. Hanaa El-Sadat, reaffirms its commitment to organizing educational, artistic, and awareness programs and workshops aimed at improving the quality of life of EB patients, supporting their integration into society, and highlighting their abilities and creativity, based on the belief that humanitarian and educational support can make a real difference in their lives
