DEBRA International was delighted to support DEBRA Indonesia team in holding the EB Awareness Month October 2021.
In October 2021, EB Awareness month was organised as our community came together to highlight the importance of EB Awareness.
The month timeline:
1-31 October
Digital education, a variety of weekly activities of infographics and Instagram live talks, educational videos and videos of EB warriors stories "EB, not the end of my world"
15-24 October
Fund raising (Virtual run 10K) with 823 participants from 25 province in Indonesia.
17 October
Webinar was held on October 17, 2021 involving health workers, the general public and media. In this webinar session, several information related to EB and testimonials from EB patients in Indonesia. There are 7 media that Join the Epidermolysis Bullosa webinar Awareness Month and reported the event in their online webpage.
The webinar lasted 3h and it was divided into 4 sections, EB introduction, wound treatment for EB patients, benefits of moisturizer for EB patients and nutrition and EB. The webinar was followed by 1419 participants consisting of dermatologist and venereologist, residents, general practitioners, other health professionals, medical students, laypersons (family of EB patients and EB patients), and the media.
